Nippon Express de España, S.A. gets AEO certification

Becomes first Japanese forwarder to be certified in Spain; now certified in 10 European countries.

On November 2009, Nippon Express de Espana, S.A., a subsidiary of Nippon Express Co., Ltd. , received EU certification as an Authorized Economic Operator (AEO), the first Japanese forwarder in Spain to be so recognized. NEE is the 10th Nippon Express Group subsidiary in Europe to become a certified AEO.

Earning AEO certification requires applicants to satisfy a variety of screening criteria, including establishing a commercial/transport management system permitting suitable customs inspections, complying with all relevant laws and regulations, having sound financial standing, and maintaining safety standards. NEE's certification as an "Authorized Economic Operator, Full" (AEOF) entitles the company to simplified customs procedures and preferential measures regarding security/safety management. That NEE satisfied these exacting screening criteria testifies to the fact that the quality of the Nippon Express Group's customs clearance services and security is recognized in Spain as well.

NEE has locations in three cities -Madrid, Barcelona and Bilbao- and, since its establishment in 1988, has utilized its network within Spain to provide total logistics services for ground, air and ocean cargo. NEE's certification as an AEO will enable Nippon Express to respond more quickly and smoothly to the increasingly sophisticated needs of customers in Spain, which has been garnering attention as a gate connecting Europe and the circum-Mediterranean region with North Africa.

All Nippon Express Group companies are committed to providing high-quality logistics services that meet with the satisfaction of their customers.
